Some finger-food information before you get started

What is the GPSR?

It’s the EU’s updated product safety framework. It ensures that all consumer products (whether new, used or refurbished) are safe when they are placed on the market.

Who does it apply to?

Everyone in the supply chain, including manufacturers, authorised representatives, importers, distributors, and even online marketplaces have obligations under the GPSR.

What is the General Safety Requirement?

This requirement ensures that only safe products should be placed on the market. Products should not pose any risks to consumers, except for an acceptable minimum risk accompanied by safety measures. This ensures a high level of consumer protection.

What should you do if your product is unsafe?

You must stop selling it immediately, inform the relevant authorities via the Safety Business Gateway, and take corrective measures such as product recalls or issuing safety warnings.
