Forum rules

Warning: by posting on this public forum, your text will be available to the Consumer Law Ready  Community.

By using this web site, you agree to be contacted by site administration, regardless of your account settings, when it becomes necessary to do so regarding your account activity.

The basic ground rules for discussions on Consumer Law Ready are simple: be polite, use common sense, don't break the law and don't post any message that even hints at advertising.

You are permitted a maximum of one account, active or inactive. If you choose to ignore this important restriction, all your accounts will be disabled. Consumer Law Ready allows one account per member and one member per account. Your account is yours and yours alone. Your account cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, or inherited.

We reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts at our discretion and without explanation. Please contact us here: if you do not understand any of the rules, guidelines or policies outlined below.

Suspension of your account is a definite consequence of not adhering to these guidelines.

By using this forum, you further agree to abide by Consumer Law ready  Terms of use. Consumer Law Ready assumes members have read them and will not take ignorance of any rules as an excuse for not complying with them.

General Rules:

  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. There is a difference between a passionate, respectful discussion and one that delves into personal matters. Think of it as debating issues, not individuals. When the line is crossed, the discussion may be closed by the moderation team. Violators will be warned and potentially banned. Our decision is final in these matters.

  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

  • You may not post on behalf of any banned member in any public manner. This includes all forums, private messages, signatures, and e-mail features.

  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the such.

  • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

  • Cross posting, the act of posting the same thing across multiple forums, is not allowed. Please just post once in the most appropriate forum.

  • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.

  • We also do not allow posts that are sexual or violent in nature or violate Consumer Law Ready community standards. The Consumer Law Ready moderation team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

  • Additionally, adult/sexual topics and those concerning sexual orientation as used in a derogatory, inflammatory, or insensitive manner are not allowed.

  • Discussion of cracking passwords or bypassing security measures is prohibited.

  • Do not post content from private correspondence, such as email or chat, within the forums.

  • Posting any other persons private information such as email, phone number or address could result in banning.

  • You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.

  • Foul language isn't necessary to discuss Consumer law and help people, so it won't be tolerated. Any attempt to bypass the profanity filters will result in an infraction against the user and that post being edited or removed. Using asterisks or any other symbol to disguise bad language is considered bypassing the filter.

  • Hidden links in posts or signatures are assumed to be malicious and members posting such content will be permanently banned, no exceptions.

  • If you are going to post material that is not your own, properly credit the source(s); failure to do so is considered plagiarism.

We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products or services. You may not post any message that is commercial by nature.

You are allowed to promote Consumer law or Consumer organisation website and to post links to sites on Consumer Protection that you run or are in any way affiliated with in your posts.

Nevertheless, posting ads for products or services are not allowed. Repeat violators who post promotional content will be permanently banned.

Political Discussions, Signatures & Avatars
